The Rural Library Project donated and
delivered $10,000 worth of library
shelving to the Lighthouse Library in
Dexter Kansas that has operated since
2007 as an all volunteer community
library . A project of the ECCRC – a
local tax exempt non profit focusing on
literacy and developing computer skills
in this area of rural Kansas, the
Lighthouse Library features a fully
handicap accessible computer lab, 21,000
volumes of books donated from
throughout the state of Kansas, an
outdoor movie space, and a 25 ft
lighthouse in the library courtyard.
Recently featured on KAKE TV in Wichita
the Lighthouse Library has been a beacon
of literacy in south eastern rural
Kansas.

Lighthouse library is in part a tribute
to the life of a local teen, Jennifer
Nicole Norris who died tragically in an
auto accident.
